Agricultural Commission

The Agricultural Commission, which usually meets at the Town Hall, 5 Academy Hill Road, the first Wednesday of every month, has suspended meetings at this time. The members of the Commission with contact information are:

Conway’s RIGHT TO FARM BY-LAW encourages the pursuit of agriculture, promotes agriculture-based economic opportunities, and protects farmlands within the town of Conway by allowing agricultural uses and related activities to function with clear protocol for conflict resolution with abutters and local agencies. The Right to Farm bylaw affects sales or exchanges of real property within the Town, as well as leases or other possessory interests in real property. The required disclosure notification states:

“It is the policy of this community to conserve, protect and encourage the maintenance and improvement of agricultural land for the production of food, and other agricultural products, as well as for its natural and ecological value.  This disclosure notification is to inform buyers or occupants that the property they are about to acquire or occupy is within a community where farming activities occur.” For a sample disclosure notification, click here: Conway Right To Farm Disclosure Notification
