The Town of Conway has a well-designed plan for managing a public emergency which includes the designation of the Conway Grammar School as the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This site would become the command center for town officials and authorized emergency responders and would be the central place for coordination of communications, response activities and resources during an emergency.
Officials will provide a telephone at the EOC for incoming calls to enable people to call in with specific questions or requests for help. The phone number to call during the emergency will be given in the Emergency Alert System (EAS) message and on the Conway Emergency Facebook page.
The Conway Emergency Facebook Page provides the opportunity for the EOC staff and for residents to post warnings, advice, comments, requests for help, etc. as a means for communicating back and forth.
