FY2021 PRELIMINARY REAL ESTATE AND PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX BILLS

Bills were issued and mailed Friday October 9th, 2020 and will be due November 9th, 2020.

The state of Massachusetts has not released final state aid figures, so the Town of Conway will postpone setting a tax rate and issue preliminary FY21 real estate and personal property tax bills on October 9th, 2020 and due November 9th, 2020.  We expect the tax rate to be set sometime around January, before your second half final bill is mailed on April 1st, 2021 and (due May 3rd, 2021). The spring bill will include this amount plus any we need to add for FY 2021 spending, which will rise at least 2.1% from last year, as voted at Town Meeting in June.

We will do our best to let mortgage holders know of the change, but we are informing you, so you are prepared if your lender reaches out to you.  Preliminary bills are a common practice in Massachusetts, so your lender should be familiar with the process to adjust your escrow appropriately when the time comes.

The deadline for Abatements and Exemptions will be 30 days after the final bill is issued in April.  If you regularly apply for a personal exemption, you could do so at any time and your exemption would be applied to the 2nd half final bill before it is issued.
